HOMELESS MAN IS NOT HOMELESS ANYMORE

I have always found that the eyes are the mirrors to the soul.
I looked at this mans eyes, and I knew he was a good man.

I took this picture a few days later.

This picture was taken a couple of months later. At this point,
he starts speaking, and seems a little more relaxed.

At this point, I start to see a little twinkle
of life in his eyes and a little smile!

He refuses to wear the clothes I bought him!

After much nagging on my part, I finally get him to wear this tan
shirt, but he refuses to discard the old aqua blue one!

It's hard to believe he's hitting 70 and
doesn't have one single grey hair!!

Many months have now gone by and I'm starting to see a
little meat on his bones! Here, we're both eating the supper
he prepared for me. He's a great cook!

Notice how he constantly has a rag hanging from his pants?
He's never without it 'cause he's CONSTANTLY scrubbing and
cleaning something! I tell him to stop, but he never minds me!
He's SO stubborn!

Would you believe he even brushes their teeth!!

We're eating breakfast. I'm eating an egg and one damn cracker
with a cup of coffee that he made for me. I'd much rather have
an Ego like he's having, but my diabetes won't permit it!
He somehow ended up with my favorite coffee cup, but that's okay,
because he's special!

One of these days I'll post a picture for you of that coffee cup.
It makes me laugh!

My angel is eating a grilled cheese
sandwich and yams I made for him!
He loves candied yams!

I bribed him by telling him that I'd make candied yams for him,
if he would wear the red sweat shirt I had recently bought him.
As you can see, he'll do anything for yams! YAY!

Here's my angel again, with his little rag hanging from his pants.
See how shiny he has everything?!

Notice how happy he looks? His self-esteem has shot up to the sky,
and he doesn't stutter anymore! This man speaks very little English,
but he's one of most well read men I've encountered. His math is
excellent and he is most familiar with classical poetry, classical
music, worldwide politics, sports, health and his Spanish is perfect.
How I wish he knew English so he could give me some English grammar lessons!

See the ballerina painting on top of my piano? It was sent to me by
one of the many inmates I visit once a year at the Kenedy Penitentiary.
He is exceptionally talented! I’ll have to buy a much prettier frame
for it so I can hang it on the wall.
