No race can prosper. Martin Luther King Jr.

"I will permit no man to narrow and
degrade my soul by making me hate him."
- Booker T. Washington

"I have learnt that success is to be measured not so much
by the position that one has reached in life as by the
obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed."
- Booker T. Washington

Success is to be measured not so much by the position
that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which
he has overcome.
- Booker T. Washington

Any man's life will be filled with constant
and unexpected encouragement if he makes up
his mind to do his level best each day.
- Booker T. Washington

There are two ways of exerting one's strength;
one is pushing down, the other is pulling up.
- Booker T. Washington

Few things help an individual more than to place
responsibility upon him, and to let him know
that you trust him.
- Booker T. Washington

You can`t hold a man down without staying down with him.
- Booker T. Washington

Associate yourself with people of good quality,
for it is better to be alone than in bad company.

Use What You Have
A ship lost at sea for many days suddenly sighted
a friendly vessel. From the mast of the unfortunate
vessel was seen the signal: "Water, water; we die
of thirst!" The answer from the friendly vessel at
once came back: "Cast down your bucket where you are."
A second and a third time the signal, "Water, water,
send us water!" ran up from the distressed vessel,
and was answered: "Cast down your bucket where you are."
The captain of the distressed vessel at last heeding
the injunction, cast down his bucket, and it came up
full of fresh, sparkling water from the mouth of
the Amazon River. To those of my race who depend on
bettering their condition I would say: "Cast down
your bucket where your are, cast it down in making
friends in every manly way of the people of all the
race by whom we are surrounded."

We shall prosper in proportion as we learn to dignify
and glorify common labor and put brains and skill into
the common occupations of life; we shall prosper in
proportion as we learn to draw the line between the
superficial and the substantial, the ornamental gewgaws
of life and the useful. No race can prosper till it
learns that there is as much dignity in tilling a field
as in writing a poem. It is at the bottom of life we
must begin, and not at the top.
Booker T. Washington

The important thing is neither your nationality nor the
religion you professed, but how your faith translated
itself in your life.
- Elenor Roosevelt

"We have all come here in different ships,
but we're in the same boat now."
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Don't be in a hurry to condemn because he doesn't do what
you do or think as you think or as fast. There was a time
when you didn't know what you know today.
- Malcolm X
